Music Performance Night

Our first Music Performance Night was on Thursday 8 June and featured musicians from Years 7 to 12. Students either performed assessment pieces or songs they had developed in their own time. We had a special guest performance by past student Mitch McKavanagh on his 12-string guitar.
Congratulations to all performers; many of whom were performing and/or singing in front of an audience for the first time! It is lovely to see students challenging themselves and having their hard work pay off.
Set-up and pack-up was very much a team effort and I appreciate that so many of our students are willing to step in and work as a team when needed. A special thank you to the Year 10 music class, Trudy Mellors, Dawn Brazil, Andrea McKee, Martin Norquay and Mark Maclean for their help during set-up and to Roger Atkins, Cynthia Burton and Janine Keats for running the BBQ on the night. We have raised approximately $180 that will go towards new music equipment, including new speaker stands.
If you missed out this time, there will be plenty of chances to see our  students in action throughout terms 3 and 4 in anything from the School  Musical and annual Arts Expo to local festivals and our 50th Anniversary celebrations.
